[PEH REE PLA]
French for "odyssey" (or journey), which in our opinion is the perfect word to describe our approach to making handcrafted wines. The English dictionary definition of the word "od-ys-sey" (ŏďĩ-sē) n. An extended, adventurous wandering," is even more accurate when it comes to our philosophy of winemaking.
Our adventurous journey has led us to wander the best regions in the western states to discovery what we believe to be the best varietals, from the best vineyards, in the best regions. We will extend our efforts with fresh perspective for every possible discovery, whether it’s in California, Oregon, or Washington.
Périple wines represent small, meticulously farmed vineyard sites from the Russian River Valley in California, Columbia Valley (including Horse Heaven Hills and Red Mountain) in Washington, and the Willamette Valley in Oregon. The carefully selected grapes from these vineyards are handcrafted and carefully guided into wines that take your palate on an adventure, expressing full varietal character and complexity to be savored over time.
Geographic territories are for roadmaps, not winemaking. Our focus is to step outside the typical winemaking paradigm and expand our commitment to superb wines regardless of where the journey to discover them takes us!
"Work where you want to live!"
That is our solution to quality of life without compromising wine quality. Our winery is just two blocks away from the Boise greenbelt, making noontime runs, biking, or fishing a reality. I have a lot of customers ask me, "Why Boise?" Honestly, this is my hometown. I have lived in other wonderful places, but all in all Boise is great place for families and for outdoor living. So "adventure road-tripping" is what I like to call our ventures to obtain our grapes from our favorite vineyard sites. A little different, yes, but it works for us, thanks to our supportive customers!
